At nearly 50, I thought I knew how to eat 'well'.Over the years I had successfully slashed my calories to lose any pounds I had gained, over and over again. But in truth, the weight had always crept back on, as soon as I stopped my eating restrictions.I have also always been very active in the gym. But now, no matter how hard I trained, I struggled to get the weight off. And I was so tired of feeling like I was constantly punishing my body, especially while I was feeling some effects of hormonal changes as I progress through the menopause.I asked Tracey to teach me how to nourish my body. And to do it in a way that I could sustain for a really long time. Friends had recommended many types of diets to me, including fasting etc, but I was clear - if I wasn't going to do something for the next 10 years, it wasn't right for me.Firstly, Tracey really listened and took on board precisely what I told her was important to me. She asked questions. She identified my 'deal breakers' and then produced a programme that was perfectly designed to give me what I wanted.For my part, I did everything she asked me to - even when I wasn't 100% convinced it would work!I stuck precisely to the plan and was quickly rewarded, as the positive results came swiftly. After only a few days I had more energy, the floaters in my eyes had reduced, my hormonal anxiety had gone, and so had my sugar cravings.As I progressed, the scale started to move in the right direction. And even when it didn't, my clothes felt better as I lost inches - even from places that had stubbornly refused to shift before! When I washed my hair, fewer hairs fell out. And I just felt generally happier with life.As the weeks passed, other people started to comment on my skin and my hair, and my general demeanour. And in a lovely way, my family started to embrace and adopt my new habits - and they reported benefits too!I am seeing results without counting a single calories (instead I count vegetables). I stick to the plan as my base and I deviate if I want to e.g. for a slice of birthday cake or a celebratory cocktail.I am beyond confident that everything is going in the right direction, all without me losing any of my energy for all my gym activities.Two months in, I feel fantastic! And I have done it whilst feeling full and satisfied and still thoroughly enjoying my food.I am very grateful to Tracey for all her thoughtfulness and generosity with her expertise - it sounds cheesy but she really has changed my life for the better.And I can't wait to see how I look and feel in the next 6 weeks, six months and even six years!
